Coach Rudd Varsity Coach Born and raised in Lewisville, Texas, Katie Rudd is a proud product of Lewisville High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete competing in both volleyball and soccer as a Fighting Farmer. One of four siblings, she continues to value the strong bond and family time she was raised with. Her passion for volleyball led her to continue her athletic career at North Central Texas College and later Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After college, she began her professional journey in education and coaching in 2002 with Lewisville ISD at Durham Middle School. In 2006, she joined the staff at The Colony High School, coaching freshman volleyball and serving as the Varsity Assistant for the Girls’ Soccer program that went on to win a state championship in 2007. During this time, she also coached club volleyball with Victory and TAV, working with athletes from ages 14 to 17. In 2007, she transitioned to Frisco ISD, joining Liberty High School as the Varsity Assistant Volleyball and Track Coach. Over eight years, she helped lead the program to multiple playoff runs, state appearances in track, and celebrated numerous athletes continuing their athletic careers in college. Her time at Liberty was pivotal in shaping her coaching philosophy, leadership skills, and commitment to relationship-building. In 2015, she was honored with the opportunity to open Rick Reedy High School as the Head Volleyball Coach and Assistant Athletic Coordinator. Over the past nine years, she has built the program from the ground up, leading the team to seven playoff appearances and three consecutive trips to the Elite 8. In 2022, her team made history as the first Frisco ISD program to reach the 5A State Championship, finishing as State Runner-Up. Under her leadership, 19 student-athletes have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Her dedication to the profession has also earned her recognition across the state. In 2022, she was invited to speak at the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Coaching School, and in 2023, she served as Head Coach of the TGCA All-Star Blue Team. More than just wins and titles, she believes deeply in using athletics as a platform to teach life lessons, focusing on developing the whole athlete, on and off the court. Outside of her professional role, she is a proud wife and mother of two. She and her husband Jeremy, married since 2018, enjoy spending family time outdoors, watching movies, attending festivals and concerts, hiking at their favorite spots like Eisenhower State Park and Mineral Wells State Park, and playing board games—with Clue being the family favorite. |
